Yesterday was a fantastic day interviewing two very successful women in the motorsport landscape.

Nini Miko - Founder of Grit Media, a creative agency offering production, communications, PR and creative work in the motorsport world in particular in off-roading.
Laura Harris - Founder of BeRight Back, a digital marketing agency and woman's automotive community.
Both Nini and Laura represent something vital, what it actually looks like when women carve out space in an industry that wasn’t built with them in mind.
Motorsport has always been painted as loud, fast, and overwhelmingly male dominated but talking to these two made it clear that behind the scenes, women are not only present, but driving major innovation, creativity and cultural change.
It’s one thing to talk about inequality or representation, it’s another to sit across from women who are living it, shaping it, and pushing back against the stereotypes in real time.
Both interviews confirmed that when young girls and women see founders, creatives, engineers, journalists, strategists and producers who look like them, they are able to imagine themselves in those roles too.
These interviews have helped me sharpen my angel and really produce insight into how the industry is currently operating, as well as what we need to be doing more of to increase visibility and female voices in the industry.
In relation to the production side of these interviews, there was something strangely empowering about juggling the technical setup, framing the shots, managing sound, and still being present enough to have meaningful conversations with Nini and Laura.
It forced me to trust my instincts, back my own decisions and step confidently into a role I have been nervous about throughout the entire creation of this documentary. In a project about women taking ownership of their space in motorsport, it felt fitting that I was also pushing myself into unfamiliar territory, proving to myself that I could lead the entire process on my own terms. And the outcome was incredible.
I can't wait to incorporate these interviews into my final piece in the coming weeks and I know they will really shape the story I am aiming to tell.
Release date T-minus 3 weeks....
