Production has begun...

South Coast Karting - Chapel Gate

Production is well under way as I attend South Coast Karting to capture video footage, sound bites and OOVS for my documentary.

Attending the circuit at Chapel Gate was great and I managed to get some really great footage for my documentary. I attended to get a feel for grassroot events and I managed to capture way more content than I originally planned. The Saturday event consisted of adult championship rounds as well as junior taster sessions and the entire day was filled with an electric buzz and rich sounds of the karts circling the course.

My plan for the day was to capture the sound of the engines and close ups that would visually bring the story I am telling to life. I filmed close ups of driver race suits and helmets as well as settings such as the onsite vehicle workshop. It was great so see young girls and women getting involved and pursuing a hobbie that they love.

This production day ran so smoothly that I am already looking to go back to attend a night time session to get even more footage of the karts on the circuit under the flood lights.
